Attendance

The Government no longer permits children to take extended leave during school time. Leave may only be granted in exceptional circumstances, up to a maximum of 5 days.  Taking your child out of school for an extended period during school time will lead to a penalty, in the form of a fine, being imposed by the local authority. In addition, if this results in your child’s attendance falling below 90% then a referral may be made to Education Social Worker.  Parents also need to be aware that, if an unauthorised absence extends beyond 10 school days, then your child could lose their school place.  If you need to take your child out of school in an emergency you must contact Mr Lloyd or another member of the senior leadership team as soon as possible.

We would also like to remind parents that, except in an emergency, all GP and dental appointments should be made outside school hours.  Please inform school, at the earliest opportunity, if your child is not attending school due to illness.

Please contact the school office on 01274 611327 or via email office@hoybrookacademy.co.uk for further details.
